Spain dominate Kazakhstan in a three-setter

 

Cairo, Egypt, June 20, 2015 - Spain dominated in a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Kazakhstan registering their fourth victory in as many games in Pool H.

The first set saw Spain racing off to a 8-5 lead at the first technical timeout and then continously pushing their lead to 17-11. Kazakhstan were trying to fight back and after a 4-points rally they managed to cut the deficit to 23-30. The European side, however, kept the control to close the set out at 25-23.

The second set found Spain starting with an ace from Jorge Fernández Valcarcel and a rally to a 4-0 lead. It all worked well from the beginning for the Spanish who managed to extend the gap to 16-9 at the second technical timeout with some great displays in the defence. A strong spike from Gerard Osorio sealed Spain's victory 25-18.

Set three was similar to the first one in many aspects as Kazakhstan were resistant when the second technical timeout which found Spain 16-14 ahead. In the late stage Jorge Fernández Valcarcel gave Spain a very important point to put them 21-18 up and the team finished the set off at 25-21.
