Greek scorers Rafail Koumentakis and Athanasios Protopsaltis registered big numbers on the board with 22 and 18 points, respectively.

Greece gained a 2-1 set advantage as China struggled on offence and defence in the third set. Greece led in the fourth set but could not close the match as China fought them point-by-point in the end game for a 30-28 finish and extend the match to a deciding set.

Both teams tried to gain edge but were forced to play with a trade in points until a service error put China in the lead at 14-12. China secured victory 15-13 from Rao Shuhan’s great spike.
