Turkey captain Kıyak: "We won, but we didn't qualify"

Turkey captain Ulaş Kıyak speaks after win over Tunisia

Istanbul, Turkey, June 20, 2015. Turkey defeated Tunisia 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18), but lost the chance to qualify for the Final Four in Slovakia.

Turkey coach Emanuele Zanini: Today it was not an easy game because everybody knew the result of the pool. But before the match I asked my players to perform well despite this. I am really satisfied because they answered like real men and played good. I want to thank all of them. They played a real match. Also Tunisia played really well. It was one of the best games of the both tournaments. We are satisfied for this kind of performance but not the result of Pool F.

Turkey captain Ulaş Kıyak: We won but we feel resentment because we lost our opportunity to qualify for the Final Four. Nevertheless we should win three games in our home. I believe we will achieve this tomorrow against Montenegro.

Tunisia coach Fethi Mkaouar: We have made progress despite the fact there was high level of volleyball played in this tournament, even yesterday we lost the game but the level of volleyball we played has improved. We need experience in international level so we look forward to tomorrow’s game.

Tunisia captain Marouane M’Rabet: I congratulate Turkey for winning today and we are now looking at tomorrow’s game as we want to win and finish the competition with a victory. Today we played a better game compared to yesterday but the Turkish side was very tough as they had strong blocks, defence and attacks. Overall the experience has been good as we have played against a different level of volleyball in this tournament.
