FIVB President watches Greece beat Mexico in World League

 

FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° is presented with a statue of Alexander the Great by Achilleas Mavromatis, the President of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation

Thessaloniki, Greece, June 19, 2015 – Greece staged its first home match in the FIVB World League since 2005 on Friday and was honoured with the presence of FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° at the Alexandrio Melathro Sports Palace in Thessaloniki.

Achilleas Mavromatis, the President of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, made a presentation to Dr. Graça shortly before the start of Greece’s match with Mexico.

Dr. Graça was presented with a statue representing Alexander the Great, the King of Ancient Macedonia.

The FIVB President and the 3,000 spectators were then treated to some Greek dancing shortly before the start of the match.

Greece then beat Mexico 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 30-28).

Dr. Graça was in Stavanger last week for the Stavanger Major and will be in the Netherlands for the start of the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Championships on June 26 in The Hague.
