Cairo, Egypt, 21 June, 2015 – Egypt advanced to the Group 3 Final Four by defeating Spain 3-1 (25-14, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18) at the FIVB Volleyball World League on Sunday in front of home fans in Cairo.
Egypt’s biggest advantage came from serving. Egypt scored 10 points off of serves, compared with one for Spain. Ahmed Abdelhay, Mohamed Masoud and Hossam Abdalla all scored multiple points from serving for Egypt.
Ahmed Abdelhay and Badawy Mohamed Moneim led Egypt with 14 points, while Sergio Noda Blanco led Spain with 12 points.
Egypt (Pool H) will face Montenegro (Pool F), China (Pool G) and the hosts, Slovakia, in the Group 3 Final Four.
