Tepic, Mexico, June 14, 2015 – China outplayed Mexico in straight sets to conclude the first weekend of action in Pool G of the FIVB Volleyball World League with an unbeaten record at the Auditorio de la Gente on Sunday.

China coach Xie Guochen: “In this first week of action, my players have learned a lot. I know we will leave for Greece undefeated but there are many things we need to improve on. I do not want to leave without thanking Mexico for their hospitality and congratulate the organisers for their efforts.”

China captain Jiao Shuai: “This is our best match of the weekend. Our reception in the previous matches failed and today we performed better. We still have ups and downs that we need to work on.”

Mexico coach Roberto Vilches: “Congratulations to China. Their players have a bright future ahead. As for my team, I believe we are taking little steps in reaching our goal to prepare for the Pan American Games this year and at this level in the World League, we have a long journey.”

Mexico captain Tomas Aguilera: “The results are consequences of having inexperienced players. Our team is going through transition that needs to be done and we need to be patient, but still we performed better against China than our match against Slovakia on Saturday. Next weekend we will have some changes in our lineup and hopefully we will see changes for the better.”
