China snatch 3-2 win over Slovakia

Tepic, Mexico, June 12, 2015 – China were down in the first two sets but managed a 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, 17-15) victory over Slovakia in Pool G of the FIVB Volleyball World League at the Auditorio dela Gente on Friday.

Slovakia’s Milan Bencz topscored with 18 points but could not carry his team to victory, while Zhang Chen and Dai Qingyao each scored 14 points to lead China to victory. 

Slovakia had a strong performance in the first two sets but China retaliated to finish even stronger in the next two sets.

Both teams fought hard to gain advantage in the fifth set but it was only after the deadlock at 10-all that China saw an opportunity to grab the lead. Slovakia countered with excellent defence to tie the score once again at 14-all but their service error also cost them the match as China managed to pull away with a 17-15 win.
