Bojic leads Montenegro to 3-0 win on World League debut

 

It was the host's first match ever in the FIVB Volleyball World League

Podgorica, Montenegro, June 12, 2015 - Montenegro were comfortable 3-0 victors in their debut FIVB Volleyabll World League 2015 game as they got off to a 100 per cent start in Pool F with Marko Bojic leading the way with 13 points in Podgorica.

Podgorica, Montenegro, June 12, 2015 - Debutants Montenegro went into the Poof F tie with Tunisia hoping to cause a shock and they began the game taking an early 13-10 lead thanks to a series of Tunisian errors. The gap began to widen with Montenegro finding their feet in the tie as Tunisia were self destructing making a massive 14 errors in the first set, giving the home side their first ever set in the World League 25-18.

The Montenegrans were taking to the World league like seasoned veterans and went into an early 10-7 lead with Vojin Cacic leading the way for the home side with some top-class spiking. Tunisia were always playing catch-up and despite less errors in the second set they continued to allow Montenegro to gradually increase their lead and open up a 16-12 lead. It was too much for the away side to crawl back as Montenegro took a 2-0 lead with Marko Bojic leading the way for a 25-20 second set win.

For a team who were making their debuts in the World League, they were not overawed by the situation and were backed by a partisan crowd in Podgorica. They started the third set intent on taking a clean sweep of the tie and raced into an 8-4 lead with Cacic and Aleksandar Minic doing the damage for the home side.

The Tunisian's had managed to cut out the errors that gifted points to the opposition but by this time the Montenegrans were buoyent and storming to a comfortable victory. They continued to open up a gap swiftly taking a 17-9 lead as they looked set to record their first ever victory in the World League and duly wrapped up a 25-16 win in the third set to take a 3-0 win on their debut.
