Kazakhstan's coach Patrakov: "Winning the fifth set is like a lottery"

Press conference after Kazakhstan vs Venezuela

Taraz, Kazakhstan, June 12, 2015 – Hosts Kazakhstan marked their FIVB Volleyball World League debut appearance with a 3-2 win (25-22, 31-33, 25-23, 28-30, 15-9) against Venezuela in Pool H on Friday.

Kazakhstan head coach Andrey Patrakov: Winning the fifth set is like winning a lottery. We were a little bit more lucky in the end because both teams were really tired.

Kazakhstan captain Alexandr Stolnikov: We haven’t seen the other teams play so far, but we will prepare through training.

Venezuela head coach Vincenzo Nacci: I want to congratulate Kazakhstan for winning this match. They won because of their own merit and effort. In the beginning we had good tactics, but we lost focus and we became very disorganised. I know that we can play better in our coming matches.

Venezuela captain Kervin Martin Piñerua Urbina: We have played against Spain before, I know we know we need to work hard tomorrow.
