Greece coach Drikos: "Tomorrow's match is like a final"

Thessaloniki, Greece, June 20, 2015 - Greece stunned Slovakia 3-2 (14-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-19, 15-10) with an inspired Mitar Tzourits, contributing 30 points to the Greek cause as the Slovaks dropped two set advantage for the fourth time in a row.

Greece coach Drikos Sotirios: In the first two sets Slovakia have played incredible volleyball, as they did also against China yesterday, without errors, with very good tactic. Later, maybe after some initial errors they lost their concentration. After we have lost against Mexico, we knew that we have to win the rest of our matches. Tomorrow is another day, we are playing against a totally different team but it is a final and everyone in our team would like to play and give his best.

Greece spiker Athanasios Protopsaltis: We didn’t start well, we had problems in receiving the ball but after the second set we managed to balance our match, we put some pressure to our opponents and finally won the match in the tie break. Now we have another challenge ahead of us. China is a very good team, but we all belive that we can do it.

Slovakia coach Flavio Gulinelli: All this is difficult to explain. I think we understood more the reasons about these defeats, but today's one was the worst of the four matches. It is always difficult to recognize the limits between the merit of one team and the problem of the other. The difference between the first two sets and the other three is really big and tonight we have to think a lot about this result.

Slovakia captain Michal Masny: I don’t have any explanation for what happened again. After the first two sets we started to play like we did in the previous matches by making mistakes in receiving and attacking. I really don’t know maybe we have power for only two sets.
