World League calendar for Groups 2 and 3 confirmed

 

The match schedule for the 24 teams in Groups 2 and 3 has been confirmed

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 25, 2014 - The match schedule for Groups 2 and 3 of the 2015 FIVB World League has been confirmed for what is expected to be the biggest and best yet edition of the tournament with a record 32 teams participating in the competition for the first time.

In Group 2, Germany have withdrawn their team from the competition and will be replaced by Japan, who move up to Group 2 from Group 3. Japan will be replaced by Venezuela in Group 3.

Group 2 consists of Pools C,D and E. Bulgaria will take on Cuba, Canada and Argentina in Pool C. France, Japan, South Korea and the Czech Republic make up Pool D, while Pool E includes Belgium, Portugal, Finland and the Netherlands.

Group 2 pool action will begin on the weekend of May 15-17 and run until the weekend of July 3-5. The Group 2 Final Four will take place in Bulgaria from July 10-11, with the Group 1 Finals taking place from July 15-19.





Group 3, which is also split up into three pools, will see Tunisia, Puerto Rico, Turkey and Montenegro play in Pool F. Pool G sees China take on Mexico, Slovakia and Greece, while Egypt will play Venezuela, Spain and Kazakhstan in Pool H.

A first set of matches in Group 3 will take place at venues in Montenegro, Mexico and Kazakhstan from June 12-14. A second weekend will be played in Turkey, Greece and Egypt from June 19-21.

The Group 3 Final Four will take place from July 3-5 in Slovakia.
