Winless Russia face uphill battle to topple Iran

Head-to-Head
· Iran won all three encounters against Russia this season after having lost their previous three against them in the World League.
· In Iran’s 3-0 win on Friday, two players reached double figures in scoring for the winning side: Shahram Mahmoudi (16) and Milad Ebadipour Ghara H. (10). 
· Russia also had two players in double digits, despite scoring only 63 points. They were Sergey Savin (13) and Dmitriy Muserskiy (10).
· Russia's last win against Iran was a 3-0 win at the 2014 World Championships.

Iran
· After beating Russia in Tehran, Iran have now won 11 of their 15 home matches in the competition.
· Iran cannot qualify for the Final Six after Poland's win against United States last Friday. 
· Iran have won six of their last seven World League matches.
· Iran have won a set in each of their matches played at the 2015 World League so far.

Russia
· Combined with last season, Russia have now lost 12 World League matches in a row, a negative team record.
· They have lost all nine matches this season. Only in 1997 they lost more (12).
· Russia and Mexico are the only two sides without a win in the 2015 World League.
· Russia are the only team in group 1 without a player scoring at least 100 points. Their top scorer is Pavel Moroz with 96 points.
· Andrey Ashchev is in the top regions of players with most points won from blocks in group 1. He has scored 19 points so far from blocking.
