Montenegro lead the way in Group 3

 

Montenegro have enjoyed themselves so far in their debut World League

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 23, 2015 – Montenegro will be out to build on their early strong form in the FIVB Volleyball World League when the Group 3 Final takes place in Slovakia. 

The Balkan outfit lead the way in a group that also features China, Egypt and host nation Slovakia. The tournament will run from July 3-5 in the Slovakian capital Bratislava in the 4,000 capacity Aegon Arena. 

Montenegro topped Pool F with 16 points, enough to keep out Turkey, who finished second with 13 points. China finished first in Pool G with 14 points, with Greece second on 11 and Slovakia third with 10. 

Egypt led the way in Pool H and reached the Group 3 final with 16 points, two ahead of pool rivals Spain. 

Montenegro have enjoyed their debut World League season and so far have accumulated five wins from six. After they began with a 3-0 win over Tunisia in front of their home fans in Podgorica, they then beat Turkey and Puerto Rio, but after repeating their victories over Tunisia and Puerto Rico, they slipped to a 3-2 loss to Turkey in Istanbul in their final pool match. 

China went unbeaten in Pool G and while Egypt opened with a loss to Spain they went on a run of five consecutive wins that culminated with a 3-1 victory over Spain in Cairo that ensured their progression.
