Krakow, Poland, July 3, 2015 – Poland defeated USA for the first time in this year’s World League. This five-set victory by 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12) means that the White-and-Reds have qualified to the Final Six in Rio de Janeiro.

David Lee, captain of USA: "Congratulations to Poland on their qualification to the Final Six. I think the reason we lost comes down to too many mistakes from the service line on our part."

Michal Kubiak, captain of Poland
:  "We are going to Rio – this was our goal from the very start of this year’s World League. We feel proud that we managed to qualify from such a strong pool. Tomorrow’s game will be a sort of a test for us. We are already qualified, but we would like to win and do so from the first place in the pool. This may have no meaning in Rio, where the best six teams will meet, but we want to try to do it for our own satisfaction and for our fans."

John Speraw, head coach of USA:  "I really thought we started well and playedwell in set three, especially the latter part, and even in large parts of set four. However, we did not play with enough consistency, so even though we had a lot of good moments we could not show the same level of game that we had showed throughout this World League."

Stephane Antiga, head coach of Poland:  "We have qualified to the Final Six and I am very happy. We were surprised how well USA started the game. We also had made too many errors, but their game was very good and the way they performed despite having already qualified and being very tired shows just what a good team they are. Of course, I still think that both teams can play better and that we will see it tomorrow."
