Italy's Travica: "It's an amazing result for us"

Italy's Dragan Travica is very happy with his team's performance

Adelaide, Australia, May 30, 2015 - It's one of the toughest road trips in world sport, so Italy were more than happy to come away with two wins over Australia in Adelaide. They won the second match 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23) on Saturday.

Mauro Berutto, head coach of Italy: We came here with a very young team, many players wearing the shirt for the first time. It was important for us to win these matches. Today we weren't so consistent. I was very happy for Simone Giannelli. He's 19-years-old and is living a magic moment, he is a pure talent.

Dragan Travica, team captain of Italy: It's an amazing result for us, six points. We are really happy with this new team. Two matches in a row, it was not so easy to focus all the time. I think we grew up. We won, which was important, but we also grew up.

Roberto Santilli, head coach of Australia: Technically it was a big improvement. The level of the game was much better than yesterday. I can say I'm happy with the performance today, but of course I can't say I'm happy with the result. We have to improve a lot of things, especially the block and defence.

Thomas Edgar, team captain of Australia: We're still not hitting our highest level yet, and we're still competitive. It's a bit difficult to stomach because we have a lot of important games this year, and we have to learn to deal with this. We need to know when to turn it up.
