"Gold, Sweat and Tears" tells story of golden Brazilian decade

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 14, 2015 – From 2001 to 2012, Brazil dominated the volleyball scene, winning a combined total of three Olympic gold medals, three FIVB World Championships, two FIVB World Cups, four FIVB World Grand Champions Cups, eight FIVB World Leagues and five FIVB World Grand Prix’s.

Now, some of the players, coaches and management who were central to that golden era have spoken for the first time about the most successful decade in Brazilian volleyball history in “Gold, Sweat and Tears” (“Ouro, Suor e Lagrimas”).

The documentary aims to understand the story behind the success, with an inside look at the daily lives of athletes such as Giba, Fabí, Ricardinho and Serginho as well as coaches Bernardo Rezende and José Roberto Guimarães as they prepared for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
