Bulgaria beat Serbia twice in friendly matches

 

Bulgaria and Serbia played two friendly matches last weekend, where the former claimed two five-set victories

Belgrade, Serbia, May 25, 2015 – Serbia played two friendly matches with Bulgaria over the weekend, which the latter won both matches in the tiebreaker (23-25, 25-22, 17-25, 29-27, 15-8) and (25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-13), in preparation for the FIVB Volleyball World League.

On both occasions, there were more than 300 spectators in attendance at the Sumice Hall of Sports in Belgrade.

“This was a successful test for us and we can see what we have to do in the following days,” Serbia coach Nikola Grbic said. “There are some things we need to change, but overall it is not bad.”

“We had a couple of good matches here,” Bulgaria coach Plamen Konstantinov said. “We tested ourselves and now we can focus on the things that we need to improve on before the start of the World League.

Serbia will play in Pool A of Group 1 against Brazil, Italy and Australia. Serbia will face Brazil in Belo Horizonte on Friday, May 29, and on Sunday, May 31.

Bulgaria will play in Group 2 with Cuba, Canada and Argentina.
