Spain v Egypt (June 12)· These teams have never met in the World League. In fact, Spain have never met any CAVB sides in the World League.
· Egypt have won only three of their 24 confrontations with EVC sides in the World League. They won their last confrontation in the World League with an EVC side, winning in straight sets against Finland.
· Spain have lost their opening matches in their last two participations. In 2008 they lost in straight sets against Bulgaria and in 2014 they lost 3-1 against Slovakia.
Spain· Spain will partake in their 13th World League. They returned last year after an absence of five years.
· Their best result is a fifth place, which they claimed in 1999, 2002 and 2003. Their worst result came in last year's World League when they came 25th.
· The last four World League matches in which Spain played, ended in five sets. Two were won by Spain and two by the opposition.
Egypt· Egypt will participate in their fifth World League and for the first time since 2010.
· Their best result is a 13th place in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In their only other participation, 2010, they finished in 14th place.
· Egypt have won only one of their last 11 matches in the World League. That only win was their latest match in the World League against Finland, a straight sets win.
· Egypt's oldest player is twice the age of Egypt's youngest player taking part in the 2015 World League. Ashraf Abouelhassan is 40 years old and Ahmed Shafik 20 years old.
