Kazakhstan and Venezuela in second Pool H encounter

 

Pool H: Head-to-head Kazakhstan v Venezuela (June 21) 
· Kazakhstan and Venezuela will meet for the second time in the World League after a five-setter in last week's match in which Kazakhstan prevailed.
· Kazakhstan scored 124 points in this match while Venezuela scored a total of 117 points. Their total of 241 points is highest in a 2015 World League match so far.
· Kazakhstan scored 17 points from blocks in this match. Only Bulgaria scored more points from blocks in a single match so far in this year's competition: 18 against Cuba on 6 June.
· Kervin Martin Piñerua Urbina scored 27 points in this match and is the only player in Group 3 to score 20+ points in two separate matches in 2015.

Kazakhstan
· Kazakhstan won their debut match in the World League by beating Venezuela in five sets. They lost the following two matches: 3-0 to Egypt and 3-1 to Spain.
· Maxim Mamedov has scored most points for Kazakhstan so far in the World League with 36 points.
· Kazakhstan will play their first World League matches away from home after hosting week 1.

Venezuela
· Venezuela failed to win any of their three matches in the opening week for Group 3 in the World League. They lost 3-2 to Kazakhstan, 3-1 to Spain and 3-0 to Egypt.
· They are now on a 14-match losing streak in the competition, the longest running losing streak by any team in the World League.
· Venezuela have won only one of their last 24 World League matches, 3-0 against Finland in 2009. · Kervin Martin Piñerua Urbina is currently leading the top scorer table in Group 3 with 67 points, 17 points more than any other player in this division.
