Greece coach Sotirios: "I am satisfied with our performance"

Thessaloniki, Greece, June 19, 2015 - Greece started their campaign in the second week in Pool G of the 2015 World League by beating Mexico in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 30-28).

Greece coach Drikos Sotirios: It was one of the strangest matches in the history of Greek volleyball. We finished our match after midnight and we can say we will play two matches in one day. I’m satisfied with the result but first of all I’m satisfied with our performance, especially in the first two sets. It was normal what happened in the third set when we made some changes in our team, because Mexico has a fighting spirit as a team, but I think in the end of the set we played the way we had to in order to win this match.

Greece captain Mitar Tzourits: For us it was important to win, but we still have two more matches to play and we are focused now on the match against Slovakia. I’m having problems with my back, it is not a serious, but I cannot play at the maximum.

Mexico coach Roberto Vilches: It was a good match in general. We didn’t play our best in the first two sets but we improved in the third one and we lost by making a lot of mistakes in the end. I think Greece played a better match here than the one we have played in Mexico, but we played at their level in the third set.

Mexico captain Tomas Aguilera: Today in the first two sets we expected Greece to lose and this was a big mistake. I hope in the next matches we will play as we did in the third set of today's match.
