Elkotb shines as Egypt crush Kazakhstan

Elkotb led Egypt to a 3-0 win

Taraz, Kazakhstan, June 13, 2015 - Unstoppable Ahmed Elkotb scored 22 points in his team's commanding 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-21) victory over home side Kazakhstan on Saturday.

After yesterday's disappointing 3-2 loss to Spain, Egypt were set on earning their first victory of the 2015 FIVB World League against Kazakhstan today. After a tight start to the match, Egypt took an 18-12 lead thanks in a large part to Elkotb's dominant attack. They controlled the situation from then on taking the opening set, 25-18.

The following set brought even more heartbreak for the home fans as a string of aces helped Egypt race out to a 7-0 lead. Elkotb continued his inspired performance as he led the visitors to a 25-14 victory.

Egypt's dominance continued in the third set as they took a five-point advantage at the first technical time-out. An ace and good spikes from Erdshtein allowed the home side to come close at 18-16 for Egypt. It was Elkotb once again who raised his game to lead Egypt to a 25-21 win in the final set.
