Egypt and Kazakhstan prepare for second Pool H encounter

 

Pool H: Head-to-head Egypt v Kazakhstan (19 June)  
· Last week, Egypt beat Kazakhstan in straight sets in their first ever World League meeting.
· Two players reached double figures for Egypt in this match: Ahmed Elkotb (22 points) and Badawy Mohamed Moneim (14). Top scorer for Kazakhstan was Alexandr Stolnikov with seven points.
· Egypt have won four of their 13 World League matches against AVC sides.

Egypt
· Egypt started their 2015 World League campaign with a 3-2 defeat to Spain, but prevailed in their following two matches. They beat Kazakhstan and Venezuela in straight sets.
· In only one campaign Egypt won more than two matches. In 2008 they recorded a total of four wins.
· Egypt are one set shy from winning their 50th in the competition. · Egypt's oldest player is twice the age of Egypt's youngest player in the 2015 World League. Ashraf Abouelhassan is 40 years old and Ahmed Shafik 20 years old.

Kazakhstan
· Kazakhstan won their debut match in the World League by beating Venezuela in five sets. They lost the following two matches: 3-0 to Egypt and 3-1 to Spain.
· Maxim Mamedov has scored most points for Kazakhstan so far in the World League with 36 points.
· Kazakhstan will play their first World League matches away from home after hosting week 1.
