China chase second win against Greece

 

Pool G: Head-to-head China v Greece (June 21)
· Last week, Greece outscored (113-108), outspiked (54-43) and outserved (9-8) China, but still ended on the losing side after five sets. This was their first ever World League meeting.
· Greece's top scorer in this match, Rafail Koumentakis (22 points), scored 10 points more than China's top scorer, Zhi Yuan (12 points).
· These teams scored a total of 221 points in their previous match. In only one match in Group 3 of the 2015 World League more points were scored: 241 in the match between Kazakhstan and Venezuela.

China
· China started their 2015 World League campaign with three wins. They beat Slovakia 3-2, Greece 3-2 and Mexico 3-0.
· China are currently on a four-match winning streak in the competition and can win five in a row for the first time.
· China have won nine of their last 11 World League matches. All of those matches came away from home, just like the remainder of this year's campaign will be for China.

Greece
· All of Greece's three matches in the opening week for Group 3 of the World League went to five sets. They defeated Mexico and Slovakia but lost to China.
· Greece have won three of their last 10 World League matches that went into a fifth set.
· Greece will host this week's matches of Pool G in the World League in Thessaloniki. They have won seven of their last 10 World League matches played on home soil.
