Serbia heading for another five setter

 

Head-to-Head

·    Serbia and Australia have never met in the World League before.
·    Their most recent clash was at the world championships in 2014. Serbia won by 3-1.
·    Australia have won four of their 25 World League meetings with CEV sides.
·    Serbia have lost their last meeting with an AVC side (Iran) which ended an 11 consecutive winning streak.

Serbia


·    Serbia's last three World League matches went into five sets. They have never had four successive World League matches going into a fifth set.
·    Serbia have lost 99 World League matches and can become the 14th nation to lose a century of World League matches.
·    Serbia have won their last four World League matches in Novi Sad, including one match against Brazil last weekend. They can win five in a row in Novi Sad for the first time since 2008-2011. They have lost their last two in Belgrade.
·    Aleksandar Atanasijevic scored 20 points in both matches against Brazil last week, becoming the first player to score at least 20 points for Serbia in this season's World League tournament.

Australia

·    Australia have won one of their last eight World League matches, when they beat Italy 3-0 in the first match last weekend.
·    Only Polish player Bartosz Kurek (126) has scored more points than Thomas Edgar (111) among players in Group I.
·    Edgar has scored 34% of Australia's total points scored so far in this year's World League (111 of 327).
