Italy hoping to sustain form against Poland

Head-to-head
· Poland and Italy have played each other 10 times in the World League. Poland won their first encounter in 1999 and their last two meetings in 2014. In between, Italy won all seven matches.
· Italy have won the only two matches against each other in the Final Round, 3-1 in 2002 and 3-0 in 2011.
· Poland and Italy also met in the second round of the 2014 world championships. Poland beat Italy 3-1.

Poland
· Poland have reached the World League Final Round for the eighth time and for the first time since their gold medal campaign in 2012.
· They can join United States (2 gold medals), Russia (3), Italy (8) and Brazil (9) as the only teams to have won the tournament on multiple occasions.
· Apart from winning the tournament in 2012, they also took a bronze medal in 2011.
· Poland are one shy of winning their 500th set in the World League. 
· Only Sam Deroo (BEL, 244 points) has scored more points in this year's World League than Poland's Bartosz Kurek (207).

Italy
· Italy can play three five-set matches in a row for the first time since three in 2012.
· Italy's next five-setter will be their 100th in the World League (W63-L36).
· They began the final rounds of 2013 and 2014 by winning their first two matches and finishing the season with a bronze medal.
· Italy scored 17 points from blocks in the match against Serbia and they had 19 successful blocks in their previous match against Brazil, both numbers are more than in any other match this season.
