Kazakhstan v Spain (June 14)· This will be the first World League meeting between Spain and debutants Kazakhstan.
· These teams have met at the 2002 World Championship. Spain won the encounter by 3-1.
· Last year, Spain played two World League matches against AVC countries, losing them both (3-0, 3-2).
Kazakhstan· Kazakhstan is one of two teams making their debut in the World League alongside Montenegro.
· Kazakhstan will be hosting the first week of Pool H in Taraz.
· Last year's debutants Belgium, Mexico, Slovakia, Tunisia and Turkey all won at least one match on home soil.
Spain· Spain will partake in their 13th World League. They returned last year after an absence of five years.
· Their best result is a fifth place, which they claimed in 1999, 2002 and 2003. Their worst result came in last year's World League when they came 25th.
· The last four World League matches in which Spain played, ended in five sets. Two were won by Spain and two by the opposition.
