Vaasa, Finland, June 6, 2015 - Speaking at the press conference following the FIVB Volleyball World League Pool E encounter between Finland and Portugal on Saturday, Finnish coach Tuomas Sammelvuo said he was happy with the three points collected from the 3-1 (25-23, 28-30, 25-14, 25-23) win over Portugal.

Finland coach Tuomas Sammelvuo said: “I am very happy with the three points today. Our serving gave us the possibility to win this match. We were not as strong in the sideout all the time. Portugal has very good spikers and we were not able to stop them.”

Finland captain Antti Siltala said: “We kept up great level in serving and if we serve like that in the coming matches, we have a good chance of winning them too. Matti Oivanen played an incredible match today.”

Portugal coach Hugo Silva said: “This match was a little better compared to the one yesterday. In the last sets, however, we continued to make mistakes. We need to think about the future and work with the young boys. We must fight hard to get points in the next World League matches.”

Portugal captain Joao Jose said: “I think both teams improved a lot in this game. We found some solutions to our problems, but not for the entire match. Finland was today better than us. We must do better in our next matches.”
