Netherlands on a roll against Finland

 

Pool E: Finland - Netherlands (27 June)

Head-to-head

· Following Friday's straight set victory Netherlands have now won eight of their nine World League matches against Finland, only suffering a 3-1 defeat on 6 July 2013.
· Netherlands have now claimed six of their eight wins over Finland in straight sets.
· The Dutch have now won all three of their matches against Finland this WL season, losing only one set in total: 3-0, 3-1, 3-0.
· The Dutch aim for their fourth victory over Finland in this year's World League. Last year they beat Czech Republic four times in World League competition.

Finland

· Finland can no longer qualify for the Final Four.
· Finland have lost their last three matches in the World League, all three against Netherlands.
· Finland have lost all five World League matches in Espoo since their return in the World League in 2006. They had not participated since 1993.
· Urpo Sivula (143 points: 124 spikes - 9 blocks - 10 serves) and Olli-Pekka Ojansivu (123 points: 103 spikes - 7 blocks - 13 serves) are Holland's top scorers so far this WL season. 

Netherlands

· Netherlands have now won four of their last five World League matches, including three wins over Finland.
· The Dutch have now won seven of their nine matches this World League season. 
· Dick Kooy (145 points: 120 spikes - 7 blocks - 18 serves) and Kay van Dijk (116 points: 92 spikes - 14 blocks - 10 serves) are Holland's top scorers so far this WL season.
