Czech Republic's Ales Holubec: 'We will fight next week for second place'

Liberec, Czech Republic, 27 June, 2015 – Czech Republic won their second victory over Korea. Czech Republic won 3-1 (30-28, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21) and they are now in the third place of the FIVB World League Pool D. Next week they will host Japan in Opava and they will fight for second place in their group.

Jindrich Licek (Assistant Coach, Czech Republic): “In the third set, our passing was not very good and South Korea got in in a different lineup and started to play with courage. It worked for them. Fortunately it did not stay that way very long and we cooled them down. In the fourth set, we started to play like before and it went well.”

Ales Holubec (Captain, Czech Republic): “Finally, a victory for three points. I think that we made sure that we will be third, but we will try to fight for the second place anyway. It will be all about the two wins in Opava. Today’s perfect game was a very good invitation for the matches in Opava, so I hope that we will see the same amazing fans in there as well.”

Moon Yongkwan (Head Coach, South Korea): ”At first set we had a little problem with reception. Then we could not stop Jan Stokr with our blocks. He was the key for their win today.“

Yung-Suk Shin (Captain, South Korea): “Czechs had a very good service, and it was difficult to receive for us. But there is not too much to change for the next matches.”
