Cuba and Canada share point-by-point philosophy

Havana, Cuba, June 18, 2015 - Cuba host Canada this weekend in Havana’s Ciudad Deportiva, to play a series that both teams take on with a point-by-point philosophy.

Canada coach Glen Hoag said his team will focus on each point, each set, each match. “I don’t like to make predictions. Our goal is to go out there and play hard. It’s going to be a tough series, because the Cubans have talent and youth. We made some changes in our roster in order to give some rest to our players, because the calendar has been crazy. But we’ve had good surprises. Of course we want to win it all, but I insist: we are focusing on one game at a time”.

Cuba coach Rodolfo Sanchez only promised a great spectacle for the Cubans fans: “Last week we could only win one match, and we have worked on our mistakes. The past is gone; we have taken lessons from our defeats. My boys did well in our training sessions, I hope they do likewise when the match is on. Canada are a great rival, it’s going to be challenging, but again I trust my players' sense of honour.”
