Canada and Argentina ready for World League in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Canada train in advance of World League at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax

Halifax, Canada, June 5, 2015 - The Canadian men’s volleyball team are in Halifax to take on FIVB Volleyball World League 2015 opponents Argentina at Scotiabank Centre, on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6.

Canada meet Argentina after beating Cuba twice and splitting its World League matches with Bulgaria 1-1.

“Argentina always has good teams – they are very skilled and well prepared. They run a good offense with very good setters and attackers, so we expect two long matches,” said Glenn Hoag, Canada’s head coach. “On our side, we have to play our game and stay disciplined, and we’ll see.”

Argentina’s assistant coach Julián Alvarez said: “I think it’s going to be a really interesting game because Canada are a really good team, so we are going to work really hard. I think it will be a really tough game, but interesting since it is part of the World League.”

Both countries are also preparing for the upcoming Pan American Games, which will take place in Toronto in July.
