Argentina return home to welcome familiar foes Bulgaria

Argentina's Nicolas Uriarte is one of several players returning to Julio Velasco's team

Salta, Argentina, June 17, 2015 – Argentina return home to take on Bulgaria in the FIVB Volleyball World League in the Estadio Delmi in Salta after claiming two away wins from their trip through Canada and Cuba.

It is the third time in three World League editions that Argentina and Bulgaria have met in the competition, with previous meetings in 2012 and 2013 and Bulgaria winning the most recent clash in Mar del Plate 3-1.

Argentine coach Julio Velasco can welcome back start setters Luciano De Cecco and Nicolas Uriarte, who play in the World League for the first time, along with captain Javier Filardi, libero Sebastian Garrocq and middle-blocker Sebastian Sole. Only Facundo Conte and fellow wing-spiker Rodrigo Quiroga remain injured and out of the team.

Bulgaria go into the clashes having won and lost a match apiece away to Canada to take their 2015 World League record to four wins and two defeats.

They can choose from a settled squad with setter Andrey Zhekov continuing as team captain and spikers Todor Skrimov and Nikolay Penchev, middle-blockers Viktor Yosifov and Teodor Todorov and libero Teodor Salparov all available.
