Argentina coach Velasco: "We said this game was going to be different"

According to Demián González, Argentina will now focus on the upcoming matches to "keep improving"

Mendoza, Argentina, May 30, 2015 - Well rested and more spirited, Cuba earned their first win of the 2015 FIVB World League with a 3-2 (17-25, 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 15-9) Pool C victory against Argentina, with Argentina saying Cuba's service was an impressive weapon.

Argentina coach Julio Velasco: "I want to congratulate Cuba for this win. I agree that their service was the key - they served very strongly and with few mistakes, a complete opposite to what happened yesterday. We said it last night: this game was going to be different and it was. They played better and also we couldn't put them in trouble. Our efforts weren't enough, but this was due to their great level tonight."

Argentina captain Demián González: "It's clear that Cuba did much better than yesterday. They had less mistakes and we faced many problems against their way of play. We must use each match to keep improving."

Cuba coach Rodolfo Sánchez: "After a bad first set, we came back to the tactics we designed and the guys were able to stick to the plan. We arrived to the final set not only playing to win, but also to enjoy the game. This victory is a boost for us - we faced not only three losses at the World League but also two at our World Cup qualification tournament. We served very well and that was the key to defeat such a good team as Argentina."

Cuba captain Rolando Cepeda: "I'm very happy for this win. We played in a completely different way, we gave it all from the first point of the game. Although we missed many balls in the first set, from the next one on we did much better, we kept our spirit and achieved a vital result for us."
