O Homem que mordeu o Cão

Andre Lopes was born in Seia in 1982 and started to play volleyball with the age of 17 at AA Coimbra where he played for 5 years until he transferred to the Portuguese capital to play for SL Benfica for 4 years. In 2008 he travelled to Belgium to play for Noliko Maaseik, where he encountered his former national team colleague Nuno Pinheiro. After two seasons in Noliko where he conquered one Belgium national championship, two Belgium Cups and 2 Super Cups he moved to France, where he played for Stade Poitevin Volley-ball pro (Poitiers) (national champion in 10/11) and with Chaumont VB 52. Last year he played for A.S. Cannes, and returned this year to Portugal to play for SL Benfica, winning recently the Portuguese Cup, being in the final of the CEV Challenge Cup and in the lead to win also the national championship. The 193-cm universal, is one of the values of the Portuguese team, where he started to play in 2001, and has an excellent capacity of impulsion, that is visible in his strong points: attack and powerful suspension serve. His great experience either at the European clubs, or the national team granted him with a greater performance consistence and competitive affirmation.
