Top band The Potbelleez to entertain Australia-Brazil crowds

The Potbelleez will perform before the Australia-Brazil World League games in Sydney

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 22, 2015 – In addition to seeing two of the world’s best men’s volleyball teams at next weekend’s FIVB World League games in Sydney, fans will also be able to watch one of Australia’s most exciting live electronic dance groups, The Potbelleez.

The Volleyroos will host Brazil at the Sydney Olympic Centre on June 27 and 28 with the sporting action complemented by one of Australia’s most popular live music performers.

Volleyball Australia President Craig Carracher said Australian volleyball fans have shown they appreciate high-quality pre-game entertainment.

“Last year we had James Blunt perform ahead of World League games in Canberra, and Bonnie Anderson in Sydney, which was a thrill for the crowds, the players, and, dare I say it, the officials,” Carracher said.

“It’s all part of Volleyball Australia making World League, and volleyball, a major event experience in this country.”

The Potbelleez will perform before the Brazil-Australia World League fixtures on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.

The Potbelleez have been filling dance floors throughout Australia and the world for more than a decade, with hits such as Don’t Hold Back and Hello.

Don’t Hold Back was one of Australia’s biggest dance-floor fillers in 2007, reaching No. 5 on the ARIA charts and recording double-platinum sales. The platinum-selling single Hello, released in 2011, further enhanced The Potbelleez reputation as one of Australia’s most loved electronic/dance acts.

And the band are no strangers to entertaining big sporting crowds, with performances at the Australian Grand Prix and the A-League football Grand Final highlights on their CV.
