Revenge for Czech Republic as Finger and Bartos lead 3-0 win over Japan

Czech Republic's players celebrate a reverse of Friday's 3-0 defeat by Japan

Opava, Czech Republic, July 4, 2015 - The home crowd were delighted as the Czech Republic turned the tables on Japan, who had beaten them in straight sets in the reverse fixture on Friday.

Although Japan pushed them close, particularly in the second set, the Czechs ran out straight-set winners, to record a 3-0 (25-19, 30-28, 25-13) victory. They were led by top scorers Michael Finger (17 points) and Adam Bartos (12).

Opposite spiker Kunihiro Shimizu and wing spiker Yuki Ishikawa did their best to keep their team in touch, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively, but it was not enough.

For the Czechs, victory brought to an end an unwanted record - they had lost their previous five World League matches played in July.
