Netherlands hoping to continue good form against Portugal

· Netherlands and Portugal will meet for the ninth and 10th time in the World League.
·
Netherlands won both meetings in Portugal at the 2015 World League, 3-1
and 3-2, and now have a positive balance against the Portuguese
(W5-L3).
· Netherlands have won a set in each of their eight meetings with Portugal in the competition.
·
Dick Kooy scored a total of 39 points against Portugal in this year's
World League. Hugo Gaspar led the scoring for Portugal with 38 points.

Netherlands
· Netherlands have won five of their six matches this World League campaign, only losing 3-0 against Belgium on 7 June.
·
Netherlands have won their last five five-setters at the World League,
since a 3-2 defeat against forthcoming opponents Portugal in 2014.
· Their last three losses all came in straight sets (one in 2015, two in 2014).
·
Coming into the weekend only United States' Micah Christensen has won
more service points than Netherlands' Nimir Abdel-Aziz (14) and Dick
Kooy (13).

Portugal
· Portugal have lost their last seven World League matches, since a 3-0 win over Korea in 2014.
· Their last longer losing streak was from 2011-2013: 20 consecutive losses.

Portugal have lost their last eight matches against European teams,
since a 3-1 win over forthcoming opponents Netherlands in 2014.
· Hugo Gaspar is the team's top scorer with 70 points.
