Argentina claim victory over Bulgaria

 

Varna, Bulgaria, July 5, 2015 - Argentina prevailed 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-17, 25-28) over Bulgaria dropping one set after losing five point advantage in the late stage.

Bulgaria started furious into the match winning five points and taking the first technical timeout following an ace from Svetoslav Gotsev. Argentina decided not to give up and found themselves 11-10 ahead using attacking skills of José Luis Gonzalez. The visiting team raced off into the 16-12 lead at the second technical timeout and managed to keep a comfortably advantage to finish off the set 25-19.

Sebastian Solé gave Argentina a flying 2-0 start into the second set, but the hosts tied the scores at 6 all and even if Argentina quickly regained the lead, they did not manage to build up a significant margin. As an Maximiliano Gauna ace put them 17-14 ahead, Bulgaria coach Plamen Konstantinov called the timeout to inspire his payers. This did not worked well as Argentina pulled away to 21-16, but lost this advantage at 22-22. An attacking power from Vladimir Nikolov and a kill block from Lubomir Agontsev paved the way for Bulgaria's triumph 26-24.

Set three and four started well for Argentina who managed to establish an early lead maintaining it to close the sets ou 25-17 and 25-18 respectively.
