Led net: innovation and technology for the best in volleyball

The led net in Maracanãzinho, gym of the World League Finals and Olympic Games 2016

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 13, 2015 - The finals of the World League do not gather only six of the world's best volleyball national teams. The advanced technology also comes into court at Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro. For the first time a led net will be used in a final competition. This project has being developed for over a year and it is part of the FIVB´s investment in innovation to make volleyball a sport even more dynamic and attractive for the whole family.

The net of the game received led lights and it works as a big screen, where images and texts can be displayed. The leds are encapsulated inside a material that cannot be damaged and also do not cause any risk to the players.

When the game is happening the net stays off like any normal volleyball net. During the break it can be turned on and statistics, the name of the player who made a good move, a sponsor message and an encouragement to the crowd can be displayed. "Today FIVB seeks innovation, not only in the management of the Federation, but also in resources that can help volleyball grow more and more. Volleyball tickets were the most requested for the 2016 Olympic Games and we want to give the audience what is best, besides the talent of the players, the owners of the party, "said President Ary Graça Filho.
