Slovakia aim for second World League victory against Mexico in Pool G

 

Pool G: Head-to-head Mexico v Slovakia (June 21)
· Last week, Slovakia beat Mexico in straight sets in their first ever World League meeting.
· Emanuel Kohut (SVK, 14 points) and Daniel Vargas (MEX, 13) scored most points for their teams in this match. Slovakia's Milan Bencz also reached double figures.
· Slovakia have won two of their three previous meetings with NORCECA sides.

Mexico
· Mexico failed to win any of their matches in the opening week for Group 3 in the World League. They lost 3-2 to Greece and 3-0 to Slovakia and China.
· Mexico won their first two World League matches (2014) but have failed to win each of the next seven.
· Mexico are eyeing their first World League victory away from home as both wins so far came in Mexico City.

Slovakia
· Slovakia won only one of their three matches in the opening week for Group 3 in the World League. They beat Mexico in straight sets and lost to China and Greece in five sets.
· Slovakia are yet to win a five-setter in the World League after four defeats.
· Milan Bencz is one of three players with 50 or more points scored in Group 3 of the World League, alongside Kervin Martin Piñerua Urbina (VEN, 67) and Badawy Mohamed Moneim (EGY, 50).
