Tillie: "We were very focused on the match"

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 19, 2015 - France continue to fly high at the top of Pool D after a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 26-24) win over the Czech Republic. France have won seven from seven so far and sit 14 points ahead of their nearest challengers.

Zdeněk Smejkal (Head Coach Czech Republic): “We started to play very defensively. We couldn’t do anything about their attack and we had problems with serve. Tomorrow we have to start in different way. We have to play as we played in the third set. Without fear and forcefully on attack.”

Aleš Holubec (Captain Czech Republic): "We didn’t catch the beginning at all. It was planned to do it in totally different way. It was very similar to when we faced France in their home audition. I wouldn’t say that we underestimated it. We want to do our best, but when they show their power, we have problems. The third set was well balanced, but they helped themselves with serve and they pushed us back. We can’t do anything about it but we have to face it. We don’t have problems on the net or in defense, but we need to do something about their serve.“

Laurent Tillie (Head Coach France): “We were afraid of the team, so we were very focused on the match. We served very well for two sets, but in third set our blocks and defense was not so good. At the end of the set Lyneel brought a lot of energy and Lafitte too, so it was good.”

Benjamin Toniutti (Captain France): “I think we played two very good sets. And the third one they started to serve better, so they make a little bit pressure on the reception and we played not so good. But the win is important for us, so we are happy for it"
