Tillie leads France to 11th straight win in Pool D

Rouzier blocks for France in 3-0 win over Korea

Castelnau-Le-Lez, France July 2, 2015 - Kevin Tillie led France to an impressive 11th straight victory for France as they grew stronger as the game wore on to overwhelm the away side 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-21) who battled hard with Jae-Duck Seo leading the scoring on the night with 15 points

France were looking to maintain their 100% record in Pool D and make it 11 wins in a row but the first set started with both teams canceling each other out. Korea, once again led by the impressive Jae-Duck Seo were the first to make the break for the line and took a two point lead at 20-18. However the home side were not about to let their vocal fans down and fought back to level at 24-24 before they sneaked home in sudden death 26-24 to take a 1-0 lead in the tie.

This time it was France that were on top from the start of the second set with Kevin Tillie having an excellent all-round game, spiking, serving and blocking for the league leaders who took a five point lead at 12-7. It was going to be tough for Korea to fightback in the set and the lead again increased, this time to six points at 22-16 before they wrapped a quick set by the score of 25-18 to comfortably secure a 2-0 lead.

It was more of the same in the third set as again France took an early 8-5 lead despite Seo's heroics for the away side as he was leading his side in scoring by some distance. Tillie continued his impressive game for the home side as he led the side in points and seemed to be leading the French side to an impressive 11th straight win. The lead once again began to increase with Korea seeming unable to stop the French steam train from rolling in. At 16-12, it was now do or die for the away side who were intent on closing the game out and duly wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 win with a third set 25-21 win.
