Rouzier leads France to second victory over Japan

Team France leave Japan with six points

Kyoto, June 7, 2015 - 13 points from the wing spiker helped France achieve their second win over Japan this weekend with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-23) at the Shimadzu Arena on Sunday.

France earned an easy 3-0 victory when the two teams met yesterday and they carried winning momentum into today's match taking an 8-2 lead early in the first set. Much like yesterday, they dominated the net successfully stopping the Japanese attack. The set finished with Rouzier's block on Yanagida.

Second set saw more of the same, as Rouzier excelled in attack, while the Japanese spikers were unable to get through the French block. France built a four-point advantage at the first technical time-out and they controlled the situation from then on taking the set, 25-18.

The home side were able to shake off the disappointement of the first two sets challenging France in the third. More powerful blocking helped France take a 13-8 lead before their own errors let Japan right back into the match at 15-all. Confident spiking from Rouzier and Sibide helped France regain the lead at 17-15. The visitors managed to hold on to their tender advantage with Lyneel's spike finishing the set at 25-23. France leave Japan with six points in two matches and plenty of self-confidence.
