Japan outclass Korea on home soil

Osaka, Japan, June 21, 2015 - Japan earned a victory in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-18) over Korea as Kunihiro Shimizu displayed a true excellence with 17 points scored.

The first set started promisingly for Korea as they raced off to a 4-1 lead courtesy of an ace from Seo Jae-Duck. But Japan refocused quickly and levelled the score up at 9's on some great kills from Hiroaki Asano. With an ace from Masahiro Yanagida the home team build up a three points advantage at the second technical timeout to eventually win the set 25-21.

Japan looked better at the beginning of set two and took a 8-5 lead into the first technical timeout. Korea failed to stop Japan's captain Kunihiro Shimizu who's devastating attacks helped his team to go up five points at 21-16. As Korea fired a couple of serves into the net Japan earned a set point at 24-19 and closed the set out at 25-20.

In the early set three the scoreboard showed a narrow advatage for Japan which they managed to extend to four points at the second technical timeout. With an ace from Shimizu they pushed it up to a comfortable 20-15 and controlled the game until Yuki Ishikawa contributed with a couple of points to a 25-18 victory.
