France chasing World League record

 

Head-to-head
· Czech Republic and France will go head-to-head for the seventh and eighth time at the World League. France have won four matches – including the last two – and Czech Republic two.
· This will already be their third meeting in 2015. They two previous matches ended in straight set wins for France and were both played last weekend (12 and 14 June).
· France can beat a specific opponent four consecutive times in straight sets for the first time in team history.

Czech Republic
· Czech Republic have lost their last three matches and can lose four consecutive matches at the World League for the first time in team history.
· They have lost their last four matches against European opponents (two matches against France and two matches against Netherlands) since a 3-1 win over Portugal on 28 June 2014.
· Czech Republic are in danger of losing their positive win balance in the competition: 35 matches played, 18 won and 17 lost.
· Coming into the weekend Jakub Vesely has won 17 blocks in the tournament, fourth-most of all players behind Pieter Verhees (BEL, 22), Pieter Coolman (BEL, 20) and Kevin Le Roux (FRA, 18).

France
· France have won their last six World League matches and their last five in straight sets (team record).
· The all-time record for most consecutive straight set wins is nine, set by Netherlands in 1990.
· France have a chance to win or lose their 500th set in the World League. Currently, they have won 496 and lost 495 sets (251 matches).
· Antonin Rouzier is France's top scorer this season with 75 points.
