Matthew Anderson helps defending champions USA defeat Russia

Kaliningrad, Russia, 27 June, 2015 – Playing in front of a passionate Russian crowd, the United States defeated Russia 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18) in Pool B of the FIVB World League on Saturday. USA won the World League in 2014, and they are trying to become first team to win back-to-back World League trophies since Brazil (2009, 2010).

Russia captain Andrey Ashchev: "We played better than we did yesterday and we made less mistakes. I would like to thank our fans for their support and I am sorry we were not able win tonight. We will stay positive and do our best to prepare for the upcoming World Championships."
