China look to confirm first victory against Mexico

 

Pool G: Head-to-head China v Mexico (June 20)
· China beat Mexico in straight sets in their first ever World League meeting last week.
· Four players of China reached double figures in this match: Zhejia Zhang (13), Zhi Yuan (11), Chen Zhang (11) and Xin Geng (10). Top scorer for Mexico was Jorge Barajas with nine points.
· Mexico's Pedro Ruiz will celebrate his 20th birthday on the day of the match.

China
· China started their 2015 World League campaign with three wins. They beat Slovakia 3-2, Greece 3-2 and Mexico 3-0.
· China are currently on a four-match winning streak in the competition and can win five in a row for the first time.
· China have won nine of their last 11 World League matches. All of those matches came away from home, just like the remainder of this year's campaign will be for China.

Mexico
· Mexico failed to win any of their matches in the opening week for Group 3 in the World League. They lost 3-2 to Greece and 3-0 to Slovakia and China.
· Mexico won their first two World League matches (2014) but have failed to win each of the next seven.
· Mexico are eyeing their first World League victory away from home as both wins so far came in Mexico City.
